PUB17 secures industry heavyweight speakers

Industry titans Jonathan Downey and Tim Martin have been confirmed to speak at PUB17, the only dedicated show for the UK pub industry, which is returning to London’s Olympia on 7 and 8 February.

Downey, who is shaking up the on-trade as we know it, and Martin who founded and leads the pub giant J D Wetherspoon, as well as being an outspoken supporter of Brexit and its positive impact for UK business, will be joined by an impressive line-up of fantastic hospitality industry heavyweights across the two days. 

Other key speakers at this year’s show include:

  • Dominic Worrall, owner of The Bull, Ditchling which was recently crowned Great British Pub of the Year, will share his views on creating a business that is an essential community hub
  • Jasper Cuppaidge, founder of Camden Town Brewery, alongside other leading brewers, will investigate the UK’s love of beer, and the ongoing craft beer craze
  • Great British Menu winner Emily Watkins, chef proprietor at the Kingham Plough, will be looking at how pub food continues to evolve and improve in quality, and how publicans can keep up with the latest trends

 George Nightingale, owner of award-winning Spoken Bar, who will be on the ‘Liquid Leadership’ panel, said: “Shows such as PUB17 are a vitally important platform for individuals and brands to network, discover the latest trends in the industry, and create relationships that enable them to maintain a unique selling point. PUB17 will be hosting 20 free-to-attend talks and workshops across the two-day show, covering a broad range of hot topics impacting the pub industry, from the evolution of pub food, to recruiting and retaining staff, how to make the most of social media, and everything in between. It will also see more than 200 innovative suppliers and a feast of ideas and insight for pub owners and operators to enhance their business and keep updated with industry trends. Alongside this will be a wealth of networking opportunities for visitors, where like-minded individuals can discuss and share thoughts and ideas.
