The final day of action from the Old Course at Lahinch in County Clare in the Republic of Ireland. Russell Knox of Scotland won this event last year.

MotoGP: German Grand Prix
The Sachsenring hosts the German leg of the MotoGP. It was an eventful race in 2018 with winner Marc Marquez of Team Repsol Honda finishing two seconds ahead of runner-up Valentino Rossi of Movistar Yamaha.

ICC Cricket World Cup: Semi-Final 1
Following the mammoth round-robin stage which saw all the participating teams play each other, the final four teams will do battle for the chance to play in the final.

Rugby League: State of Origin - Game 3 - New South Wales v Queensland
Rugby League action from Down Under as the top NRL players revert to their home states for a three-match series. This event will be at Homebush Stadium in Sydney so NSW will be hoping that the home crowd inspires them to victory over their opponents.

Tennis: Wimbledon 2019 - Women’s Singles Final 
One of the highlights of the sporting year as Centre Court hosts the Women’s Singles Final. All top ten seeds were eliminated before the quarter-finals, allowing some lesser-known players to step into the limelight. In the end it was Angelique Kerber of Germany who defeated Serena Williams 6-3, 6-3 in the final.

ICC Cricket World Cup: Final
The weather may have caused a bit of disruption to the early stages of the tournament but fans will be hoping for some fantastic conditions for this showpiece event at Lord’s. In 2015, the final was an all-Antipodean final with Australia taking on New Zealand. Inspired by key man Mitchell Starc, it was the Aussies who triumphed.

F1: British Grand Prix
Britain’s Lewis Hamilton looks to be racing away with the Drivers’ Championship after a string of fantastic victories and would dearly love to win in front of his home crowd after being beaten here by Sebastian Vettel last year. Given the competitive spirit shown by Hamilton in recent months, he will be going all-out to claim a place atop the podium.

Another big sporting spectacle in South-West London in prospect as the Men’s Singles Final takes place. According to the bookies, the favourites for the title include Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Alexander Zverev.

Golf: The 148th Open Championship
The Open returns to Northern Ireland as Royal Portrush in Country Antrim hosts the 148th edition of this event. This course is guaranteed to test even the world’s best players. Originally designed by Harry Colt, the course is routed through the rugged links land and has several changes in both direction and elevation. Francesco Molinari of Italy won this event in 2018.
