Live sport coming up in December

There's a festive feast of live sporting action coming up throughout December, including the start of the Darts World Championship at Alexandra Palace and some choice Premier League and Gallagher Rugby Premiership fixtures

Premier League: Bournemouth v Liverpool
Bournemouth have continued to battle hard this season to put themselves in the top half of the table and will not be overawed in the slightest to take one of the League’s key pacesetters.

Premier League: Chelsea v Manchester City
City have been the team to beat this season and show no signs of slowing down with Pep Guardiola assembling a team with no obvious weaknesses. Not only have they scored a bucketload of goals, they have also shown a rock-solid defence with several clean sheets to their credit in recent months.

Leicester City are firmly in the second tier of Premier League teams this season and will have their work cut out to make an inroads against a confident Spurs side.

It’s still a rollercoaster of a ride for Magpies fans with off-field protests continuing to distract from the business on the field. Manager Rafael Benitez looks to be steering the club in the right direction despite a relative lack of resources.

Darts: World Championship
The World Championship gets underway at Alexandra Palace in North London as the world’s best marksmen gather for a shot at the prestigious title. The 2018 event saw Rob Cross powering through the various stages before despatching reigning champion Michael van Gerwen in the semi-final and Phil Taylor in the final.

Premier League: Liverpool v Manchester United
An intriguing clash at Anfield as United make the short trip to take on Jurgen Klopp’s team on their home turf. The last encounter between these two sides at this venue ended in a nil-nil draw as the sides cancelled each other out. That was followed by a 2-1 win for United at Old Trafford in March 2018.

A major game for both sides with Arsenal steadily improving since the beginning of the season. Liverpool have been hot on the heels of League leaders Manchester City and will not want to take their foot off the accelerator during the second half of the season.

Gallagher Premiership Rugby: Bath v Leicester Tigers
Neither side is enjoying a vintage season given the lofty historical standards of these proud clubs and a win here would be a major boost going into 2019. Tigers, in particular, look to be really struggling with both style of play and personnel.
