Caledonian Brewery releases Road to Rio golden ale
15th July 2016
The latest addition to Caledonian Brewery’s guest beer line-up has been released to mark the biggest sporting event of the year, Rio de Janeiro’s Olympic Games.
Road to Rio is brewed with both English and southern hemisphere hops and, according to the tasting notes, is "rich in soft fruit aromas with a generous hint of lemon and a gentle maIt finish."
Caledonian recommend matching the golden ale with light dishes such as seafood and lightly spiced food.
Craig Steven, Caledonian’s Beers Manager and Beer Academy Sommelier, said: “We wanted to create an ale that feeds into the excitement of the biggest sporting event of the year.
"Brewed using hops from England, New Zealand and America, the result is a soft, fruity ale with a punchy citrus finish. Available to the on trade throughout the competition, Road to Rio is the perfect complement to the variety of sport we’ve got ahead of us!”
Road to Rio is available to order on draught nationwide from 25 July 2016 and throughout the Olympic Games.« Back to News
