BT Sport unveils two-year price freeze deal

BT Sport has launched a new two-year deal for independent pubs and clubs which guarantees a fixed price and guaranteed content over the 24 months of the contract. 

Both existing and new pub and club customers who opt to take the new two-year contract before 31 August 2016 will be guaranteed that the price they pay in September 2016 will not change until at least the summer of 2018.

BT Sport is also guaranteeing that over the same period they will not lose any of the most important sporting content for customers including the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and Europa League, the FA Cup, Scottish Premier Football League and Aviva Premiership Rugby.

BT Sport also announced that it is increasing its price to pubs and clubs by 8.9 percent but says its prices are more than 60 per cent less than the price of Sky for the average independent pub.

BT Sport is also launching two new services for pubs and clubs, which will initially only be available to those customers taking the price freeze and content guarantee offer: BT Sport Wi-Fi and BarBeats, a music streaming service for pubs and clubs. 

The Wi-Fi service gives pubs and clubs the ability to offer free internet access to customers with no login required.

BarBeats, meanwhile, includes 70 playlists that can be controlled from an easy-to-use interface on a manager's smartphone or tablet.

BT Sport is promising that the 2016/17 season will see targeted on-air promotions scheduled around important BT Sport fixtures tailored for pubs and clubs audiences. They will promote the next big fixtures, encouraging return visits and venue loyalty.

This season BT Sport will show more Premier League matches than ever before with 42 live matches – 36 will be shown on Saturdays with 28 at the new time of 5.30pm and a further six games on midweek evenings.
