Brooklyn Brewery's Scorcher IPA launches in two new formats
2nd May 2017
Brooklyn Brewery’s Scorcher IPA is being launched in two new formats this spring, with draught available in pubs and bars as part of the core Brooklyn Range for the first time, accompanied by cans landing in the on and off-trade - and the UK is its debut international market.
Scorcher is a 4.5% ABV India Pale Ale, brewed with Amarillo, Simcoe, Cascade and Bravo hops and is currently available in bottle, with 30L keg and can formats arriving this April.
Each Brooklyn Brewery beer is imported into the UK from New York and overseen by iconic Brewmaster, Garrett Oliver.
Garrett comments: “It's funny to note that we actually first released Scorcher in 2004. At the time, most people seemed to only want massive IPAs but other brewers were really big on Scorcher. Fast-forward to 2017 and we've updated the beer with even brighter hop notes and it's now our go-to beer for barbecue food and evenings out in the pub.”
Brooklyn Brewery’s mission is to brew flavourful beers that reflect and enrich the life, traditions and culture of creative communities worldwide. This is reflected in its selection of quality, innovative and seasonal beers – including Brooklyn Lager, Brooklyn Scorcher IPA, Brooklyn Summer Ale, Brooklyn East IPA and Brooklyn Sorachi Ace.
Carlsberg UK has held the exclusive distribution of the Brooklyn Brewery beer portfolio in the UK since January 2017, and has worked alongside Brooklyn to launch Scorcher IPA on draught for the first time into the UK on-trade.
Brooklyn Brewery’s range of craft beers complements Carlsberg UK’s existing premium beer and cider portfolio which includes craft cider, Bad Apple; Danish style pilsner, Carlsberg Export; Italian lager, Poretti; Czech craft lager Celia; Belgium ale, Grimbergen; Spanish lagers, Mahou and San Miguel; and Sweden’s Backyard Brewery range – including Shed Head, Bee 17 and Lawnmower.
Liam Newton, vice president of marketing at Carlsberg UK, comments: “Building wider interest and access to Brooklyn Brewery’s craft beer portfolio in the on-trade is a priority for us as a brewer this year, where it complements our premium beer portfolio. We’re thrilled to be able to introduce Scorcher into the on trade on draught and into the on and off-trade in cans for the first time in the UK, building on its existing popularity as a quality bottled beer.”« Back to News
