Bestway’s Winter Warmers heat up seasonal sales
23rd November 2016
Booming coffee sales offer foodservice operators a huge opportunity to grow their hot drinks trade over the winter months, according to Bestway Wholesale, who are launching a range of ‘winter warmer’ offers.
Mintel forecasts that out-of-home coffee sales will top £3bn by the end of 2016, and reports that along with specialist coffee shops and cafes, consumers also expect to be offered good quality coffee and hot drinks by fast food, restaurants, pubs and hotels.*
Tony Holmes, Bestway’s sales director for foodservice and retail, says, “Consumer expectations are higher than ever when it comes to enjoying hot drinks out-of-home, and operators should have a tempting and diverse offer to meet increased demand over the winter months.
“We have a range of ‘Winter Warmer’ offers and promotions on hot drinks running to help operators raise their game and take a share of this £3bn market.”
· Nescafé Azera Americano 500g: £10.99
· Nescafé Original/ Decaf Sticks x 200: £9.49
· Yorkshire Tea One Cup Bags x 1200: £12.89
· Twinings Earl Grey Tea x 50: £3.89
· Cadbury Drinking Hot Chocolate 5kg: £21.99
Holmes adds: “Along with Price Hold Guarantee offers allowing customers to plan for two months at a time, we have a broad product range available in Bestway and Batleys depots, or for free delivery, to help develop a hot drinks menu. These include coffee beans and pods, fruit and herb teas, flavoured syrups, and much more.
“For licensed operators, we have a range of liqueurs ideal for a premium hot drinks menu when added to coffee and hot chocolate, including Baileys in the current Price Hold Guarantee at £55.99 for six 70cl bottles.
“Liqueur coffees are big sellers over the Christmas period, and by promoting them alongside dessert menus, as well as on chalkboards and drink lists, pubs and restaurants can extend sales into the new year and beyond.
“With Mintel forecasting further strong growth in coffee up to 2020, we’re working to further expand the range, advice and support we offer to help our customers develop their hot drinks business.”
