26th August 2016
British pubs and bars are gearing up for one of the most profitable weekends of the summer, with an additional £41 million expected to be pumped into the industry over a three day period.
Based on last year’s figures, the colossal £41,850,000 equates to each pub taking an average of £837 additional income across the weekend as the public flock for refreshments.
A recent survey conducted by Epos Now revealed that pubs and bars across the UK experienced a 21% rise in revenue across the Bank Holiday weekend last year (Sat 29 - Monday 31st August) in comparison to the Saturday-Monday immediately prior (Sat 22- Monday 24th August).
Of the 500 pubs and bars polled, the study also discovered that sales on Bank Holiday Sunday reported a 58% increase on the week before while sales on the Monday shot up by 42%.
The CEO of Epos Now, Jacyn Heavens said: “The hospitality industry is gearing up for one of the most profitable weekends of the summer season. At a time like this, it’s crucial for businesses to be able to keep a close eye on their stock levels to ensure they are fully prepared for a weekend of high sales, resulting in plenty of profit.”
