Rugby players star in Mitsubishi films for Sky Sports campaign

Stamp Productions has teamed up with several international rugby stars for Mitsubishi Motors’ latest ‘Intelligent Motion’ campaign, celebrating the brand’s sponsorship of rugby coverage on Sky Sports.

The campaign, which includes a 15 second introduction and 4 x 10 second idents, was created and developed by Stamp Productions in partnership with Golley Slater. 

The content draws tactical comparisons between advanced rugby skills and Mitsubishi’s intelligent in-car technology. 

In each short film, Mitsubishi ambassadors and rugby players Ross Moriarty, Billy Twelvetrees, Owen Williams and Willi Heinz put a selection of amateur players through their paces in a series of intense training drills, to highlight features on the new Mitsubishi Outlander Petrol PHEV SUV and Mitsubishi L200 models.

Working with a cross-section of teams across junior, women’s and men’s amateur rugby, the campaign outlines the efficiency of the professional game while celebrating grass-roots rugby at all levels.

Evasive running, maul practice, support running and vision and spatial awareness drills all come together to mimic the car’s advanced features such as 4WD capabilities, 360 degree camera visibility, forward collision mitigation and super all-wheel control. 

The campaign will run throughout the current season of rugby coverage, from September 2017 to May 2018.

"Building on the success of last year, we wanted to take that connection between the players and the brand to the next level. The animated elements have allowed us to physically ‘draw’ new comparisons like never before.”
