England fans have been taken Inside the Lions’ Den for an exclusive view of England’s World Cup preparations thanks to Vauxhall, the England Team sponsor.
Vauxhall has teamed up with England defender Gary Cahill to take fans behind the scenes in the Three Lions training camp in Miami, the first time this has been done by an England player.
As lead sponsor of the England team, Vauxhall will be producing a daily video diary with Cahill revealing the mood from inside the England quarters.
England take on Ecuador (4th June) and Honduras (7th June) in Miami’s Sunlife Stadium with Cahill providing fans with an exclusive behind the scenes view of life as an England international.
The Chelsea stopper is the first England player to take part in a Vauxhall video diary, which will be broadcast on Vauxhall’s dedicated Football YouTube channel.
This, the latest digital activation from the official England team sponsor, comes after the Luton-based car manufacturer undertook a live Facebook LIVE Q&A session with Joe Hart, Danny Welbeck and Fraser Forster.
Hosted by Sky Sports reporter Geoff Shreeves and England legend Paul Merson, the Facebook chat drew a digital audience of over 16m with fans sending in their questions via the Vauxhall England Facebook page.
Vauxhall Head of Sponsorship Chris Hornbuckle commented, “We understand that not all England fans will be able to make the trip to Miami and Brazil.
“As lead sponsor we are committed to making the tournament more accessible to England fans through our digital channels and relationship with the England team.
“Initiatives like Gary Cahill’s video diary gives fans a behind the scenes glimpse at life inside the England camp, from the comfort of their own home.”
Cahill, who scored on Friday night against Peru, commented; “We have some of the best fans in the world so to have a chance to engage with them through Vauxhall’s video diary is something I’m really looking forward to. Ecuador and Honduras will be provide a good test for us heading into Brazil so I’ll be keeping fans up to date with our daily progress from Miami.”
Vauxhall’s recent campaigns have focused on giving England fans exclusive behind the scenes access including an open training session at St. George’s Park and hosting Roy Hodgson’s squad announcement live from its Griffin House Headquarters in Luton.
Vauxhall Motors is the proud sponsor of Home Nations football and will continue to be the lead sponsor of all the national teams of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales up to and including the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
